[edit] Summary
Description |
English: The interior of Port Logan Fish Pond, Port Logan, Wigtownshire, Scotland. The pond was designed to provide a supply of fresh (but salt-water!) fish to the local laird. It was excavated out of sold rock in the eighteenth century by workmen using only basic hand tools. It is fed from a tunnel leading to the outside of the cliff and the water is refreshed on every high tide. The pond is to the right of the round white tower visible in this image.
