| In front of the stable/garage of How Green House stands this wonderful hand-cranked petrol pump. I used one in my youth when we used to get a free fill-up at my grandfather's mill in Rossendale. As I recall, one turned the handle in one direction to draw a gallon of fuel into the transparent cylindrical section just below the handle. Then turned it in the other direction to discharge into the vehicle. |
